Stroll over to Eastbourne Pier, make a wish over at the Wish Tower and then head over to the beautiful grounds at Helen Gardens or stay a bit closer and explore Sovereign Harbour! Situated some three miles from Eastbourne seafront, this is nonetheless convenient for rail services with the Hampden Park Station 10 minutes walk away. The South Downs Way stretches for 100 miles from Winchester in the West along the rolling chalk hills to the spectacular finale of the sheer cliff-tops from the Cuckmere Haven to Beachy Head just outside Eastbourne. When the tide is in, unless you want to get mega wet, you must walk inland along the river till you reach a bridge crossing, then walk back along the river on the other side.
